Have your say on RMA reforms

Whether you’re an environmental campaigner or a land developer, everyone has a complaint about the Resource Management Act (RMA).  Since it was introduced in 1991 it has become far too complex, and our environment has significantly degraded despite its lofty aims.

Now, the government is undertaking a major review of the RMA.  The review panel has issued an “issues and options” paper and is inviting public comment by 3 February 2020.

Several issues have been identified in the paper including addressing climate change and natural hazards, consents and approvals, reducing complexity, national direction and some others.

Here is your chance to have a say on a law which has more effect on our lives than almost any other.
