Waikato Regional Council has approved the Terms of Reference for its new Climate Action Committee. Importantly they empower the Committee to develop and recommend policy relating to both reducing greenhouse gas emissions (mitigation) and preparing for climate change (adaptation).

The Committee will have its first meeting in February. The Chair is Jennifer Nickel, with myself Deputy Chair.
